Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts awards historic prize to Jana Nicole
The Prix Puvis de Chavannes was announced on 1 October at Salon de Beaux Arts 2022, held in the Orangerie du Sénat, Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris. The jury awarded the prize to Jana Nicole for her monumental installation, Botanical Troupe, which was placed to greet visitors at the entrance of the famous Orangerie. Jana Nicole is the first non-French artist to receive the honour in the prize’s 100-year history.
美国艺术家Jana Nicole专访
I was born an artist. It chose me. Before becoming a full-time professional artist, I started working in the film industry. I work in the costume department of horror movies and have won awards for my creation, including No. 29 top 50 sexy sci-fi costumes! I work for DeMann Entertainment in Los Angeles, California, which manages Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Lionel Richie. I might have opened Madonna’s mail.

I felt the need to do something big as a signal to my mother, to say that I love her as we are separated and cannot be together during these difficult times. Hope you enjoy this too. Stay safe.
Cirque des Enfants
To celebrate the release of my latest collection “Cirque Des Enfants” an animation (Turn up the volume) capturing the idea that children’s warmth and love for these beautiful animals was reciprocated by even the largest of creatures.

Happy House Plants: Plant Passions
Over her considerable artistic career, Jana Nicole never fails to surprise. Always unique and diverse she creates irresistible works in mixed media tackling an eclectic array of topics with intelligence, humour and mischief; merging such diverse subjects as erotica, politics, war, mysticism, animals and natural worlds.
